Seattle (April 5, 2005) - Attention, all Muggles! Amazon.ca (www.amazon.ca) and Canada Post today announced that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment in J.K. Rowling's epic Harry Potter series, will be delivered to the doorsteps of excited fans across Canada on Saturday, July 16 - the first day the book is available to the public.

Amazon.ca is offering complimentary Saturday shipping upgrades, where available, to customers who pre-order Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from Amazon.ca and select Express Shipping. Amazon.ca and Canada Post will deliver Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince via Canada Post's customized Saturday delivery service so that it arrives on customers' doorsteps on Saturday, July 16.

The children's version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been Amazon.ca's bestselling book every week thus far in 2005. The title is already the fourth bestselling book in the site's history, behind Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5), The Life of Pi and the The Da Vinci Code.

Amazon.ca is offering both the children's and adult versions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at 40 per cent off the cover price.

This special Saturday delivery offer applies to both the children's and adult editions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; it does not apply to deliveries to non-Canadian addresses, postal codes outside of Canada Post's Saturday delivery service area, P.O. boxes or Canadian Forces Post Office addresses, commercial addresses where no one is present to accept delivery and orders with more than eight copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Customers can use Amazon.ca's postal code finder to determine whether they are eligible for Saturday delivery.
