SEATTLE, November 3, 2026 — Today, Amazon announced the Amazon Sustainability Deep Tech Accelerator, giving companies working at the frontier of materials science, manufacturing, and energy systems a single, structured path to get their technology evaluated with the opportunity to be adopted across Amazon Devices, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Amazon Private Brands.
The Accelerator selects innovators working on next-generation technologies that could reduce the carbon impact of displays, semiconductors, batteries, and packaging; transform how cloud hardware is designed, used, and retired for greater reuse of critical components and materials; and source advanced, lower-carbon alternatives for plastics, polymers, and textiles. By connecting these efforts under one program, companies can validate their technologies with multiple Amazon teams, helping to create more commercial opportunities for them in a single engagement.
This worldwide program builds on years of proven results. In 2025, Amazon launched its Devices Climate Tech Accelerator to connect emerging decarbonization companies with Amazon Devices through a structured, 6-month evaluation process. Twenty-eight companies across the first two cohorts demonstrated that the model works. Finalists presented proposals to Amazon senior leadership who could approve integration opportunities. Today, we are expanding the accelerator, bringing Amazon Devices, AWS, and Amazon Private Brands together under one program for the first time.
Amazon co-founded The Climate Pledge in 2019, our goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions across our global operations by 2040. The Deep Tech Accelerator is one way to help us get there.
“Across industry, new technologies are needed to reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of recycled materials. Many are being developed right now by thousands of innovators around the world – but the traditional path from lab to enterprise adoption is too slow,” said Maiken Moeller-Hansen, Director of Energy & Sustainability for Amazon Devices & Services. “We designed this program to accelerate a different path, one where innovators develop an integration proposal shaped around product roadmap and manufacturing readiness, then present it directly to the leaders who can green-light it.”
The Accelerator seeks technologies that lower carbon emissions and strengthen supply chain resilience across three themes:
- Low-carbon materials and advanced manufacturing which could reduce the carbon impact of semiconductors, PCBs, batteries, displays, accessories, and packaging
- Energy efficiency which could reduce operational emissions through power and thermal management
- Circularity which could reduce embodied carbon and keep critical components and materials in use through increased recovery and reuse
Amazon does not take equity stakes as a condition of program participation. If approved for integration, outcomes may include various commercial arrangements from licensing and supply agreements to technology collaborations and investment opportunities based on mutual fit and business objectives. Technologies reviewed through the program may also be referred to other Amazon business units beyond Amazon Devices, AWS, and Amazon Private Brands.
