AWS BANGKOK SUMMIT, Thailand, 28 May 2026. Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced that 2C2P, Southeast Asia’s leading payments platform, runs on AWS as its foundation to support millions of daily transactions across six markets, while accelerating software modernization with generative AI. The company connects more than 400 payment methods in more than 150 currencies, serves over 25 national and regional airlines, and operates 600,000 acceptance points across Southeast Asia and beyond. 2C2P is part of Ant International’s Antom, a world leading merchant payment and digitization services provider.
The complexity behind every payment
Every time a traveller books a flight, checks out during a flash sale, or taps a QR code at a counter, a 2C2P payment completes in seconds. The infrastructure behind that transaction runs on AWS.
Southeast Asia is one of the world's most dynamic digital economies, with hundreds of distinct payment methods, multiple currencies, and different regulations in every market. A single airline booking from Bangkok to Tokyo may cross multiple payment providers, real-time currency conversions, pass fraud screening and tokenization – all within seconds. During major shopping events, transaction volumes can spike to over 30 times normal levels.
For merchants (the businesses that accept payments, from airlines to e-commerce platforms to corner shops), every delay at checkout risks an abandoned transaction, lost revenue, or a customer who does not return. Payment infrastructure must match the speed consumers expect while meeting financial-grade security and compliance requirements across every market it serves.
To manage this, 2C2P built PACO (Payment Airline Controller), an in-house payment orchestration platform purpose-built for the airline and travel industry. PACO routes and secures transactions across local payment rails, digital wallets, bank transfers, QR payments, and global card networks through a single API. To support the elasticity and resilience required at this scale, 2C2P leverages a broad range of AWS services — including Auto Scaling, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS to scale capacity instantly when demand surges, alongside Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and Amazon ElastiCache for performance and reliability across the platform.
"There are hundreds of different payment ecosystems globally, and our job is to connect and orchestrate them through a single API. In payments, downtime is not an option," said Worachat Luxkanalode, Group CEO of 2C2P by Antom. "We've invested years in building this orchestration capability in-house and have observed productivity gains of 40%. Partners like AWS give us the elastic infrastructure to deliver it reliably at scale across the region."
Where generative AI changes the velocity
As transaction volumes grew, so did the demands on 2C2P's engineering teams. The company needed to onboard merchants faster, ship software more frequently, and maintain strict security standards across every market.
To address these challenges, 2C2P has begun exploring how generative AI can accelerate velocity, with several initiatives currently underway:
- Accelerating merchant integration — 2C2P uses Amazon Bedrock to generate integration code that connects a merchant's checkout to 2C2P's payment network. Five integration use cases are planned, including a successful pilot with QuickPay, its in-house payment link solution. Once mature, these use cases have the potential to compress integration work from days to minutes
- Improving engineering productivity — 2C2P’s engineers use , an AI-powered development environment, to eliminate idle time between development stages. Code reviews that previously took a week now complete in a day, and features move from idea to production-ready with fewer manual handoffs.
- Fast-tracking application upgrades — 2C2P uses AWS Transform, an agentic AI service, to modernize legacy applications that would otherwise require months of manual refactoring. Early results have reduced multi-month upgrade cycles to weeks, freeing engineers to focus on improving core payment systems, rather than maintaining aging code.
“Southeast Asia's payments ecosystem is among the most fragmented in the world with over 400 methods across dozens of currencies," said Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Manager at AWS Thailand. "2C2P has turned that complexity into a competitive advantage, building a payments orchestration layer on AWS that connects hundreds of payment systems and currencies while maintaining the speed and security that airlines and merchants demand. We're excited help 2C2P embark on their generative AI journey and achieve the kind of velocity Southeast Asian businesses need to stay ahead."
