HANOI, VIETNAM, SEPTEMBER 29, 2026 - Vinasoy, the No.1 chosen packaged soy milk manufacturer in Vietnam, today announced the successful deployment of a generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) solution built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The solution automates retail display monitoring across Vinasoy’s nationwide distribution network, reducing out-of-stock rates by 20% within two months of deployment.

The solution, developed in partnership with Renova Cloud, an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, has increased monitoring coverage by over four times to over 70% of distribution outlets per month. This has allowed Vinasoy to optimize product placements, improve its brand visibility and accessibility, and manage sales performance across its entire distribution network.

“Our sales teams used to wait weeks for display compliance data, and by the time they got it, the shelf problem had already cost us. With AWS’s Generative AI solutions, they now get answers in days and can act before a gap becomes a lost sale,” said Le Ba Be, National Sales Director of Vinasoy. “This has freed our people to do what they do best - build relationships with retailers and keep our products within reach of consumers. We’re just getting started, and we see this becoming the foundation for how we run our entire supply chain.”

Transforming Retail Visibility
Vinasoy manages its product placement across a retail network spanning 34 provinces, with annual sales of VND 4,800 billion. Prior to deploying Gen AI, staff spent nearly 2,000 workhours per cycle to manually score store product-layout images through the company's Distribution Management System (DMS), covering approximately 17% of Vinasoy’s outlets per month in total, and could only monitor each store once a month. A full scoring cycle took more than 20 days to process. With no real-time visibility, many retail outlets, and thousands of images to process monthly, a new approach was needed.

Working with Renova Cloud, Vinasoy built an end-to-end solution on AWS that combines speed and accuracy across three steps:

  1. Capture: Salespeople photograph product displays during store visits and upload them to Vinasoy’s DMS. Images are processed by Amazon SageMaker leveraging Vinasoy’s own image recognition technology, allowing it to identify products (for example, 24 different versions of its Vinasoy milk across different packaging and sizes) at 22 images per second, 1,300 times faster than manual inspection.
  2. Evaluate: Vinasoy’s Gen AI solution powered by Amazon Bedrock then scores each store’s display against approved product display standards. With Gen AI, the system can reason through imperfectly taken photos or unusual shelf arrangements and still deliver accurate results.
  3. Act: Compliance scores reach Vinasoy’s sales teams within one to two days, up to 20 times faster than before, enabling them to identify and address stock issues and non-compliant displays at scale, and move closer to near-real-time visibility across its retail network.

Since deployment, the Gen AI-powered solution has transformed Vinasoy's retail execution at scale. Out-of-stock rate across Vinasoy's entire retail network dropped by 20% within just two months of implementation. The number of stores monitored has grown to over 70%, and monitoring frequency has increased to once a week from once a month.

Expanding GenAI Across the Value Chain
The retail display monitoring solution is part of Vinasoy’s broader AI transformation strategy. Vinasoy is also applying AI-driven data analytics to sales management, supporting demand forecasting and distribution optimization. Preparing a sales report for management meetings, which previously took around three days, can now be completed in approximately five minutes.

Looking ahead, Vinasoy will continue to expand its use of AI across its end-to-end value chain, from factory floor to retail shelf. The retail display monitoring is planned for further scaling to 100% of Vinasoy’s outlets in the coming months. The company is also currently working with Renova Cloud to develop an AI-based packaging inspection solution on AWS for product packaging evaluation.

Vinasoy’s commitment to AI-driven innovation, supported by AWS, positions the company to continue improving operational efficiency and ensuring consumers can find its products on shelves when and where they need them.

“Vinasoy's journey is a strong example of how FMCG companies can move from AI experimentation to meaningful business impact,” said Eric Yeo, Country General Manager, AWS Vietnam. “What started as a single use case in retail display monitoring has already delivered measurable results, and we're proud to support Vinasoy as they continue to explore new ways AI can enhance their operations.”

“Every business has unique challenges, and we always begin with our customers' real operational needs,” said Doron Shachar, CEO of Renova Cloud. “We are honored to work alongside Vinasoy in developing an AI solution that fits its business processes and enhances retail execution. We believe collaborations like this will encourage broader AI adoption across the Vietnamese business community.”
