Amazon has committed $150,000 to the fund, which is open to individuals, local community groups, schools, non-profits, and other organizations. This is the first community fund Amazon is launching to support local projects driving positive change in Frederick County.
Nonprofit applicants can apply for grants up to $10,000, while individuals and community groups can apply for up to $5,000. Project themes include: sustainability, STEM education, hyperlocal social impact investment and workforce development.
“We're excited to bring the Amazon Frederick County Community Fund to life and invest directly in the people and organizations making a difference here," said Colin Sollitt, Community Engagement Manager at Amazon. "Being a good neighbor means showing up for the community in meaningful ways, and this fund is one of the ways we show that commitment. We can't wait to see what Frederick County changemakers will create."
Applications for the Frederick County Community Fund will be accepted until July 15, 2026. Applications will be assessed against funding criteria and the positive impact on the community.
