Today, the Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator opened applications for its 2026 cohort. Launched in 2025, Amazon’s Climate Tech Accelerator is a uniquely designed program for companies at any stage to accelerate the integration of their technologies that can help reduce the carbon impact of Amazon devices.

"The primary goal of our Climate Tech Accelerator is simple—to speed up efforts to reduce the carbon impact of our devices," said Maiken Moeller-Hansen, Director, Energy & Sustainability, Amazon Devices & Services. "Participants will receive dedicated support from Amazon technical leaders, who will evaluate and help validate the deployment potential of their technologies. This is a unique and collaborative program that resembles how Amazon works—we’re excited to work with participants in the 2026 cohort, and excited about the potential to accelerate the inclusion of climate-friendly technologies in our devices.”

Unlike traditional accelerators, the Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator is designed to accelerate collaboration between climate tech innovators and enterprise decision-makers. This model is designed to streamline the path from validation to adoption opportunity for cohort participants. For the 2026 cohort, the Accelerator is focusing on companies who create technologies in the following categories to help reduce the carbon impact of Amazon devices:

  • Displays
  • Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies
  • Low Carbon Materials
  • Semiconductors
  • Device Batteries
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Circularity
  • Manufacturing Processes

The Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator launched in 2025. The inaugural cohort included 14 companies, ranging from publicly traded firms to mid-stage startups from around the globe. Participants created technologies including high-efficiency display solutions, printed circuit boards, advanced device batteries, low-carbon materials, and energy-efficiency innovations that were presented directly to Amazon Devices & Services decision-makers.

Azumo is a display technology company from Chicago, Illinois, and a 2025 cohort participant that benefited from learning Amazon’s culture and processes before presenting to Amazon leaders. "This accelerator bridges a critical gap for companies like ours—too established for traditional startup programs, but not yet at consumer electronics scale for enterprise partnerships," said Mike Casper, Azumo’s co-founder and CEO. ”We've proven our technology with a million units shipped over eight years to hundreds of customers, and now this program provides the pathway to reach millions more through Amazon's devices."

Accelerator Program & Benefits
The 2026 Accelerator program launches in partnership with Plug and Play, a global innovation platform that has worked with over 35,000 startups and 500 world-leading corporations across 20+ industries.

The program kicks off in May 2026 with a bootcamp in Amazon's Hong Kong offices, where participants will demonstrate their technology, join hands-on technical workshops, and develop customized integration paths with Amazon leaders. Cohort members will then build comprehensive Integration Assessment documents which include technical analysis, cost/benefit evaluation, and commercial viability.

The program will conclude with selected finalists pitching their technology to Amazon Devices & Services leadership in the US in Fall 2026.

Additional program offerings Amazon provides the Accelerator participants include:

  • Expert Technical Mentorship: Collaboration with Amazon experts and Plug and Play's engineering, sustainability, and manufacturing venture team to validate technology and strengthen integration proposals.
  • Structured Program Support: Dedicated program management, bi-weekly progress reviews, weekly cohort office hours, and specialized workshops focused on technical integration.
  • Up to $100K AWS Activate Credits: Eligible participants can receive credits to build, grow, and scale using AWS infrastructure, data services, and AI/ML models.
