SEATTLE — (June 9, 2026) — Amazon today launched Sleep Studio, a new feature that transforms Echo and Echo Kids devices into a complete bedtime system for families, combining soothing stories, guided meditations, and calming sounds from trusted names like Calm, Headspace, and Moshi. Echo Kids devices come with a 6- or 12-month subscription to Amazon Kids+, with Sleep Studio included at no additional cost.
According to data from the National Sleep Foundation, nearly half of U.S. children consistently get less than the recommended amount of sleep, and sleep is critical for development. Sleep Studio represents a new approach to one of parenting’s most universal challenges: easing bedtime friction and helping reduce middle-of-the-night wakings by giving kids soothing stories, guided meditations, and calming sounds they actually look forward to, and that parents can fully customize.

How it works
Parents set personalized sleep schedules and curate playlists through the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard (available as an app or on the web). When bedtime approaches, a 30-minute wind-down begins automatically on the Echo device. Kids can also say, “Alexa, play Sleep Studio” themselves — giving them ownership over their routine and building independence around healthy sleep habits. Echo Glow, sold separately, adds a visual layer with soothing, color-coded lights that help kids understand their sleep window.
