New Delhi, April 29, 2025: Amazon India today announced the inauguration of a new Ashray centre in Gurugram's Sector 66. Gurugram Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra inaugurated the centre in presence of Amazon leader Nitumani Goswami, North Region Director and other dignitaries. With this addition, six Ashray centres now serve delivery associates across Gurugram.
At the inauguration, Gurugram Mayor, Raj Rani Malhotra said, "I applaud Amazon for prioritizing the safety and well-being of delivery associates. These Ashray centres provide essential support, particularly during the hot summer season, offering much-needed respite from the heat and safe working conditions for delivery associates across sectors. This is a welcome addition to our city."

Amazon India plans to expand its network of Ashray centres to 100 across India by 2025. With the launch of this new centre, there are now 11 Ashray centres in Delhi-Gurugram area, providing convenient access to essential amenities for delivery associates across the city.
Ashray centres are dedicated rest stops that offer air-conditioned seating, clean drinking water, electrolytes, mobile charging points, washrooms, first-aid kits, and refreshment facilities to delivery associates across ecommerce and logistics ecosystem. This effort is an industry-first initiative designed to offer dedicated rest centres to delivery associates and logistics partners in high foot-fall areas. Located at petrol pumps and commercial rental spaces, these centers are equipped with essential amenities. Ashray centres operate from 9 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week all year round, offering free access to all visiting delivery associates for up to 30 minutes per visit.With a capacity to accommodate up to 15 people at any time, the centres offer convenient parking spaces as well.
