• Amazon Prime Instant Video will launch The Fall Season 1 on the UK's largest subscription streaming service today following an exclusive deal with Endemol Worldwide Distribution

London - 8 January, 2015 - A deal was today announced between Endemol Worldwide Distribution (EWD) and Amazon Prime Instant Video for the exclusive subscription video on demand (SVOD) rights in the United Kingdom to the acclaimed drama series The Fall. The Fall Season 1 will launch on Amazon today, Thursday 8 January.

BBC Two's highest rated drama series in ten years, The Fall stars Emmy® and Golden Globe award-winner Gillian Anderson (Hannibal, The X Files) and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, Once Upon a Time), this gripping psychological thriller forensically examines the lives of two hunters... One a serial killer that stalks his victims at random and the other a high-powered detective superintendent brought in to catch him.

Set in Belfast, Northern Ireland The Fall is a Fables Production in association with Artist Studios for the BBC with support from Northern Island Screen. The Fall is written by Emmy Award-winning Allan Cubitt (The Boys are Back, Murphy's Law, Prime Suspect 2), who also directed Season 2 and produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Gub Neal and Julian Stevens.

The first season of The Fall premiered on BBC Two on the 13th May 2013 with the second season premiering on the 11th January 2014. Across the two seasons The Fall achieved an average consolidated market share of 3.79 million viewers and an average consolidated market share of 14.35% which is an increase of 98% on the average channel benchmark for the slot.

It was recently announced that Endemol Worldwide Distribution and Shine International are joining forces as one business under the leadership of CEO Cathy Payne. The two operations are being brought together as part of the new joint venture between Endemol, Shine and CORE Media, which is initially operating under the name Endemol Shine Group.
