Southampton residents purchase the most presents for pets, followed by Nottingham and Glasgow

London, 16 December 2015: With Christmas fast approaching, Amazon.co.uk reveals that sales of presents for pets have increased by more than 25% since last year, with top gifts including gluten-free treats, pet bow-ties and advent calendars for dogs.
From gourmet treats and costumes to grooming products and new bedding, the top ten cities with the most pampered pets in the UK (based on sales of Pet Supplies products on Amazon.co.uk from 1st November 2015 to date, per capita) are:

Cat owners are looking out for their feline friends’ comfort and entertainment with water fountains for constant fresh water, circuit toys and radiator beds. Even the smallest pets haven’t been left out, with hamsters receiving cardboard castles and birds being treated to interactive toys.
