LONDON – 22 January 2016 – Amazon.co.uk has been ranked #1 in Customer Satisfaction amongst all UK companies in a nationwide poll of 10,000 consumers. To say thank you, Amazon.co.uk is offering customers £10 off any retail order over £50 – today only.  This can used by entering the promo code BIGTHANKS at checkout.

The UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI), run by the Institute of Customer Service, asks consumers to rate their actual experiences of the individual organisations they have dealt with on a range of metrics, from professionalism, quality and efficiency to problem solving and complaint handling.

"We are grateful to customers for ranking Amazon #1 in customer satisfaction in the UK," said Christopher North, Managing Director, Amazon.co.uk.  "We are constantly working to improve the overall experience we provide for our customers and set ever higher standards."

Over the past year, Amazon.co.uk introduced further improvements to its customer experience including Amazon Prime Now, offering Prime customers in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Newcastle delivery of up to 20,000 items within one hour for £6.99, or free delivery in a selected two-hour window; Amazon Prime Same Day delivery in London on over a million items; and Amazon Pantry, a new nationwide service for  Prime members, offering more than 4,000 low-priced everyday essentials, including food and drink, household supplies, and health and beauty products.

“With satisfaction levels increasing, it is pleasing to see growing recognition in UK Boardrooms about the impact that strong customer service can have on the bottom line,” says Jo Causon, CEO of the Institute of Customer Service.  “Yet, to be sustainable, organisations should not focus on short-term fixes, but rather constantly adapt to the changing needs of customers. Regardless of size organisations must strive to deliver a personalised service on a consistent basis; it is this that will differentiate them from the competition."
