Hit US series The Bold Type will launch exclusively on Prime Video in the UK

The comedy-drama inspired by the life of Cosmopolitan’s former Editor-in-Chief will launch on Prime Video on 9th February 2018

London – 18 January 2018 – Amazon today announces that comedy-drama, The Bold Type,will launch exclusively on Prime Video in the UK, Germany, France and Spain. All of the first season’s 10 60-minute episodes, which follow the lives of three spirited young women in their twenties working for a global women’s magazine based in New York City, will be available from 9th February 2018.

Inspired by the life of Joanna Coles, former Editor-in-Chief of fashion magazine Cosmopolitan and current Chief Content Officer of Hearst Magazines, The Bold Type follows three 20-something women who work at Scarlet magazine, run by high-powered Editor-in-Chief Jacqueline (Melora HardinTransparent). The rising generation of Scarlet women lean on one another as they find their own voices in a sea of intimidating leaders. Together, they explore sexuality, identity, love and fashion.

The series stars Katie Stevens (Faking it) as Jane, Aisha Dee(Chasing Life) as Kat,Meghann Fahy (Political Animals) as Sutton. The series also stars Sam Page (House of Cards), Matt Ward (Remedy) and Melora Hardin (Transparent) as Jacqueline, Editor-in-Chief of Scarlet Magazine.

The Bold Type found popularity in the US and has been greenlit for an additional two seasons which will both also launch on Prime Video. Season 1 of The Bold Type is executive produced by Sarah Watson (Parenthood), David Bernad (Superstore), Joanna Coles and Ruben Fleischer (SuperstoreZombieland). Holly Whidden is a co-executive producer. The series is a Universal Television and The District production.
